Opening and Reception Artist Talk 8:00 p.m. Hope McIntyre Stitch-by Stitch Display 58 purpose-made Canadian flags with the Truth and Reconciliation Recommendations stitched on them. Created by Helene Vosters as a community reflection and art making project. Saturday 11:00 to 5:00 p.m. Art Show Graffiti artists starting at 1:00 The Notebook Project - community participation wanted! Drop in from 1:30 to 4:00 - all supplies provided Children's bouncy castle and face painting starting at 1:30 to 4:00 Community Barbecue starts at 4:00 p.m. Sunday 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Art Show Artist Talk 1:00 Liz Coffman Stitch-by-Stitch - 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Join us to stitch a recommendation on a flag and discuss Truth and Reconciliation. 7:30 p.m. Described on Bravo TV News as a national treasure, Diana McIntosh has a very active career as a distinctive, original, witty, and innovative composer/pianist/performance artist. She has a dynamic stage presence, and has performed throughout Canada, widely in the USA, and in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Portugal and in October, 2002, she gave 3 performances in Nairobi, Kenya.
In recent years she has attained a high profile for her one- woman, inter-disciplinary creations, in which she has explored singular ways of working with voiced texts in a theatrical relationship with music. As well as her own original texts, she also uses texts of well-known authors (Diane Ackerman, Gertrude Stein, Beryl Markham, Jon Whyte, Joy Harjo, Liliane Welch, and others). Her eclectic style ranges from the evocative and provocative to eccentric humour. Crescent Fort Rouge is thrilled to have Connie perform again in our acoustical gem of a church where her voice rings out in a way that can only be said is spectacular. Joining Connie will be her husband Paul, and sons Aleksi and Gabriel. Anyone who had the thrill of hearing Aleksi and Gabriel in Winnipeg in August with their new bands will certainly be first in the line-up for tickets!
